Bam Adebayo missing All-Defense this season was surprising, but it doesn’t overshadow the growth he’s shown
1. Consistent Mid-Range and Outside Shooting: Bam has improved his face-up game, but extending his range with a reliable 15–18 foot jumper — or even a corner three — would open up Miami’s offense and help space the floor for others.
2. Aggressiveness as a Scorer: At times, Bam can be too unselfish. Taking 15–18 shots per game with an assertive mindset, especially in crunch time, would elevate both his stats and the Heat’s ceiling.
3. Passing Under Pressure: While he’s an excellent high-post facilitator, tightening up his reads when blitzed or trapped would reduce turnovers and increase offensive flow.
4. Free Throw Rate: Drawing more fouls and getting to the line more consistently would not only help his scoring but also put opposing bigs in foul trouble.
5. Defensive Communication: Even if he wasn’t All-Defense this year, Bam remains an elite defender. Improving his vocal leadership on that end could take Miami’s team defense from good to dominant again.
What area do you personally want to see him take the biggest leap in?
