On Friday evening, California Judge Claudia Wilken approved the House vs NCAA settlement. The settlement grants universities the right to pay their athletes directly for the first time ever. The revenue share cap will be approximately $20.5 million this year and will slowly increase every year for the next 10 years. As part of the settlement, college football rosters will be capped at 105 beginning in 2025. However, roster limits were one of the primary reasons Judge Wilken was slow to approve of the settlement, fearing it would take away opportunities already promised to student athletes. As a compromise,…
The Vikings rookie is shaking up OTAs — and it’s definitely not the name you were expecting!
The Vikings Rookie Shaking Up OTAs — And It’s Definitely Not the Name You Were Expecting When the Minnesota Vikings arrived at TCO Performance Center for the 2025 OTAs, all eyes were on the big-name rookies—first-round pick J.J. McCarthy, the potential quarterback of the future, and high-profile additions like wide receiver Keon Coleman. But while those players have had their moments, it’s an unexpected name that has stolen the spotlight: sixth-round linebacker Malik Jamison out of Appalachian State. Barely mentioned in draft coverage, Jamison was considered a developmental prospect with solid athletic traits but limited upside. Now? He’s…

NCAA REPORT: Dan Wetzel predicts Jim Harbaugh, Connor Stalions will receive NCAA show-cause penalties
ESPN’s Dan Wetzel predicted Jim Harbaugh and Connor Stalions will definitely received show causes from the NCAA due to the sign stealing scandal. As the hearings roll on, there’s finally expected to be a decision this summer. Still, we have to wait and see. One thing’s for sure, as Wetzel pointed out, we won’t be seeing Harbaugh and Stalions back in college football any time soon. Particularly Harbaugh.Granted, the former Michigan head coach is rolling in the NFL again and likely will end his career there. But if he wanted to come back to college, there’s not really a…
Unbelievable: Former Duke basketball great didn’t hold back about players getting paid under new settlement
Former Duke basketball great didn’t hold back about players getting paid under new settlement With the legal path for schools to pay players now paved, we will undoubtedly begin to hear the cheers — and probably some jeers — from former players. One such player is former Duke standout Nolan Smith, a member of the 2010 National Championship team. Late Friday night after news broke that the settlement had been approved. Smith took to social media to express his joy (and a little bit of frustration), saying he was “beyond happy” that players can now be directly paid by…
Justin Jefferson, the preeminent Vikings star player, is working on developing his relationship with J.J. McCarthy. The team’s top receiver was forthright when chatting with the media, avoiding a political answer that mirrors the past words from Kevin O’Connell and McCarthy. Jefferson was quick to anoint the sophomore as the team’s top passer. Immediately after doing so, however, a tiny shred of doubt gets shoehorned into the mix.The Vikings Star & The Vikings QB If Justin Jefferson and J.J. McCarthy don’t form a strong on-field bond, the Vikings will likely be looking for a new passer before too long.…
This BYU football commit just made track and field history in California. McKay Madsen just ended his high school sports career with a bang. The BYU football signee captured California state championships in both shot put and discus this past weekend, marking his second consecutive state title in each event. Madsen’s repeat championships in the two events made him the first California athlete to accomplish such a feat in more than 100 years.Since I woke up last year after winning state, there hasn’t been a single day where I haven’t thought about it again. It’s like literally an…
Why is Kevin Young putting together the best nonconference schedule in BYU basketball history?
A couple of games into BYU’s Big 12 basketball slate last January, first-year head coach Kevin Young and his staff realized what they had feared would happen when they inherited their nonconference schedule was actually happening. The 2024-25 Cougars were simply not ready for the physicality and athleticism they were facing in early conference games against Arizona State, Houston, Texas Tech and TCU. They went 1-3 in those games, defeating only ASU, at home. “Last year’s (nonconference schedule) was fine, but you can only get so much out of some of those games,” Young told the Deseret News…

There are growing calls for Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin to “apologize.” Kiffin, the 50-year-old college football head coach, has been accused of “crossing a line” by The Ringer. The longtime college football head coach, known for his time at Tennessee, USC and Alabama, is quite active on social media. However, that can sometimes get him into hot water. Earlier this spring, Kiffin went viral for his tweet meant for President Donald J. Trump. The tweet went viral, though, and now some people are not happy about it.The jester’s act has made him a favorite of…
