The Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball program is experiencing significant roster changes this offseason, marked by the departure of key players through the transfer portal. Notably, forward Mouhamed Dioubate has committed to the Kentucky Wildcats, and senior forward Nick Pringle has also entered the transfer portal.Dioubate, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from New York, brings two years of experience and is expected to add toughness and depth to Kentucky’s roster. This past season, he averaged 7.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game, while shooting an impressive 62% from the field and 46% from three-point range. With standout rebounding metrics—ranking fifth in defensive rebounding percentage and 16th in offensive rebounding in the SEC—Dioubate is seen as a high-impact addition .In addition to Dioubate’s departure, senior forward Nick Pringle has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Pringle appeared in 34 of Alabama’s 37 games during the 2023-24 season, making 16 starts. He averaged 6.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game and was known for providing an emotional boost to the team. Pringle’s decision marks his fourth collegiate stop, having previously played at Wofford and Dodge City Community College before joining Alabama in 2022 .Despite these departures, Alabama’s recruiting efforts remain strong. The Crimson Tide recently secured a commitment from five-star forward Derrion Reid, a consensus top-15 national prospect from Prolific Prep in California. Reid, who chose Alabama over Georgia and Florida State, is expected to be a significant addition to the team’s frontcourt .As the offseason progresses, Alabama will continue to navigate the challenges of roster management in the evolving landscape of college basketball, aiming to maintain its competitive edge in the SEC and nationally.
