In a historic achievement, Penn State Wrestling has become only the second team in NCAA Division I history to produce 10 All-Americans in a single season, joining Minnesota’s 2001 squad in this exclusive club. This milestone underscores the Nittany Lions’ dominance in collegiate wrestling and marks a significant chapter in the program’s storied legacy.
The Nittany Lions’ remarkable feat was solidified during the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia. With three blood round victories on Friday night, including a pivotal 5-4 decision by 157-pounder Tyler Kasak, Penn State secured its 10th All-American, matching a record that had stood for over two decades.
Despite the devastating loss of team captain and four-time All-American Aaron Brooks to a season-ending injury earlier in the year, the team demonstrated resilience and depth. Under the leadership of head coach Cael Sanderson, the Nittany Lions not only achieved this All-American milestone but also clinched their 13th national team title, scoring a record-breaking 177 points.
This unforgettable season for Penn State Wrestling is a testament to the program’s enduring excellence and the athletes’ unwavering commitment to success.
