SOUTH BEND, Ind. – In a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering passion, loyalty, and spirit of the Fighting Irish faithful, the University of Notre Dame Athletics Department proudly announced the creation of a new honor: The Spirit of the Irish Award, presented this year to Notre Dame Fans Worldwide.
The award was presented during a special halftime ceremony at Notre Dame Stadium, recognizing the global community of Notre Dame supporters for their enduring dedication, especially throughout a year marked by transition, resilience, and record-breaking fan engagement.
> “Notre Dame fans aren’t just spectators — they’re a living part of our tradition,” said Jack Swarbrick, Vice President and Director of Athletics. “Their energy carries our teams, their pride elevates our brand, and their faith in the Irish never wavers. It’s time we honor them just as we do our athletes and coaches.”
