Peyton Manning: Arch makes throws ‘I can’t even think about’
The Manning Passing Academy held its annual camp in Thibodaux, Louisiana last week, hosted by Archie Manning, Cooper Manning, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning.
High school quarterbacks from across the country learn from some of the best QBs of all time at the camp each summer, with college QBs serving as counselors. One of the college QBs in attendance this year was Texas Longhorns redshirt sophomore Arch Manning — the grandson of Archie, son of Cooper and nephew of Peyton and Eli.
During an interview on the Pat McAfee Show earlier this week, Peyton specifically praised Archie and LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier following the camp.
“I’m excited to watch Arch play,” Peyton told McAfee. “He threw the ball really well at the camp. He and Garrett Nussmeier at our three throwing expeditions really threw the ball well — all the quarterbacks throw the ball well. It’s impressive. They make throws that I can’t even think about making. Arch made a throw the other day that I’d have to hit the cutoff man to get the ball to the actual receiver.”
Manning also name-dropped South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers.

Quinn Ewers entered the NFL draft earlier this year and was picked by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round, so Arch is set to enter the 2025 season as the Longhorns’ full-time starting quarterback. Based on the glowing report from his uncle, Arch certainly seems poised to develop into the next great Manning quarterback.
