Ole Miss quarterback Austin Simmons is graduating from college at just 19 years old after taking an unorthodox route through college.
Simmons is tipped to be the starting quarterback for the Rebels as a redshirt sophomore next season and will be working toward a Master’s degree by the time he starts playing. That’s actually quite something. The teenager will get his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi sometime this month, although he’s only spent two years. While he should be getting to college in August to kick off his freshman year, he’s already graduating .
How he did it is pretty intriguing.Simmons, referred to as a genius, opted to ramp up his education in the 6th grade. He was able to take high school courses online as he began homeschooling and did so seven days a week, even during the summer holidays.
He also prepared for the SAT while taking high school courses in middle school, allowing him to graduate from high school ahead of what would have been his ninth-grade year, which was actually when he started his freshman year in college
