For a time, it looked like the winds were blowing the Georgia athlete to Norman, but things changed after he officially visited Lexington. After spending time with the coaches, he felt comfortable about how his future will unfold as a Kentucky Wildcat.
“I’ll actually look forward to going to practice because I get to be around the (coaching) staff. The staff is awesome,” he said.
The main driver from the Kentucky coaching staff was L’Damian Washington. The new wide receivers coach has been on a heater since he began recruiting for the Wildcats. He’s helped open the door to Texas and successfully recruited three wide receivers to the 2026 class. What makes him so effective in recruiting?
“Dude, just his character, like him as a person. Throughout the whole recruiting process, he was the coach that I had the best relationship with, and I mean that in every category. It was just the most transparent; he’s just a true down-to-earth guy. His character speaks a lot,” said Dickerson.Mobile Menu

The world of college athletics has changed drastically in the last five years. One thing has not completely changed in the recruiting world. Relationships matter. That is what ultimately led wide receiver Dallas Dickerson to Kentucky.
On Tuesday, the three-star prospect committed to Kentucky, choosing the Wildcats over Oklahoma and Georgia Tech. Florida and Indiana were also heavily involved with the speedster.
“I see myself prospering there the best,” he told KSR. “Playing early is not necessarily a necessity, but I believe what their plan with me from an offensive standpoint, I think that I’ll play a really big role.”KSR

Dickerson was on the radar for so many programs because of the numbers he’s putting on radar guns. The wide receiver has been clocked at 4.42 in the 40-yard dash and 10.36 in the 100 meters. Kentucky wants to put that speed to good use.
“(Washington) sees me as kind of like a combo guy, meaning I can play all spots at the receiver position. Ultimately, that creates more opportunity for me, being a more versatile player, who’s not just doing one thing.”
Ahead of his junior season, he transferred to North Oconee (GA), where he helped the Titans cap off an undefeated season, culminating in the school’s first state championship. It exceeded his wildest expectations. Even though the future does not always appear to be bright for the Kentucky football program, inside those walls, the head coach is confident the Wildcats are trending back in the right direction.
“I love Coach Stoops’ composure,” Dickerson told Chad Simmons. “During my meeting with him, he was very sincere when he talked about where the program is going and what direction it’s headed in. He made it clear that Kentucky football is taking a step up.”
