“PORTAL SHAKE-UP: RAZORBACKS SEE FOUR HIT TRANSFER MARKET, INCLUDING FRESHMAN CATCHER ZANE BECKER”
FAYETTEVILLE, AR — In a surprising bit of roster movement, four Arkansas Razorbacks have reportedly entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, per 64Analytics — headlined by promising freshman catcher Zane Becker, along with junior first baseman Michael Anderson, junior catcher Elliot Peterson, and freshman second baseman Gabe Fraser.
While none of the exits are considered shocking departures or major losses, the growing list still caught some fans off guard — particularly the inclusion of Becker and Fraser, two young players viewed as having strong long-term upside.
Becker, a freshman with solid defensive tools and a high baseball IQ, showed flashes of potential in limited opportunities behind the plate. Fraser, a slick-fielding second baseman, also drew interest with his athleticism and energy during fall and midweek reps. Both are expected to seek starting roles elsewhere in hopes of gaining more playing time in 2026.
The departures of Anderson and Peterson add veteran experience to the portal pool, but neither was in a projected starting role heading into next season.
Arkansas fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing there haven’t been any shocking losses to core contributors — but the portal season is just heating up. The Razorbacks remain focused on reloading through the portal and the incoming recruiting class as they prepare for another run to Omaha.
