There’s a new voice coming to Memorial Stadium—and it’s one that Husker Nation will soon come to know well. Kyle Crooks (@Kcrooks18) has officially been named the play-by-play voice of Nebraska Football, stepping into the Greg Sharpe Radio Booth after eight years at the University of Florida.
Crooks brings a wealth of experience and energy to the job, having called games for Gators football, basketball, and baseball since 2016. Now, he’ll trade The Swamp for the Sea of Red, joining a tradition-rich program that lives and breathes football every fall Saturday.
In a statement, Crooks said:
> “It will be an honor to work alongside a talented team in the Greg Sharpe Radio Booth. Greg is a legend in the broadcast industry and beyond, and I will work passionately to continue his elite standard of excellence both in the booth and in the community.”
Big shoes to fill? Absolutely. But early reactions from Husker fans and alumni suggest the program found someone with the voice, knowledge, and heart to carry the tradition forward.
