Shadarius Toodle: Georgia flips 4-star LB away from Auburn
This Sentell’s Intel rep on Georgia football recruiting has the latest with 4-star LB prospect Shadarius Toodle from Cottage Hill Christian in Mobile. The Alabama resident ranks as the nation’s No. 9 LB and the No. 166 overall prospect for 2026 on the 247Sports Composite. The On3 Industry Ranking has him as the No. 12 LB and No. 166 overall.
When Shadarius Toodle took his official visit to check out Georgia football, it seemed like so long ago. That was back for the scavenger hunt weekend in the middle of May, and it was a very strong visit.
The feeling coming out of that was that the Dawgs made a serious move in Toodle’s recruitment. The 4-star LB remained committed to Auburn, but even said coming out of that visit that Georgia was his leader.
A lot has happened since then.
He visited Michigan recently and was quoted in reports that the visit was comparable to the time he spent in Athens. Toodle also took another official to check out Baylor over the last month.
He returned to Auburn last weekend. The lack of inaction seemed to indicate that things were likely to remain strong with his home-state Tigers, but he did tell reporters after that visit that he planned to make a decision soon and shut it down after that.
Toodle figured it out and shared some news today that illustrates how recruiting can sometimes go.
The 4-star abruptly flipped from Auburn to Georgia this afternoon to become the 19th member of Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class.
The motivation behind the flip is noted in his commitment edit. He told On3’s Hayes Fawcett the following:
“If you want to be the best, why not play with the best?” he told Fawcett.
Toodle had made his commitment to Auburn back on July 27 of last year. The Bulldogs offered him back on January 28.
