6-foot-3 outside hitter Shaye Witherspoon is Nebraska volleyball’s fourth commit in the last two days. Witherspoon adds her name to the Huskers’ impressive Class of 2027 commits.
The Wildwood, Mo. native is the No. 10 prospect by PrepDig and the No. 11 player according to PrepVolleyball.com. The Huskers secured two top 10 players in Witherspoon and middle blocker Kendall Omoruyi, the top player according to PrepDig.

The six-rotation player added 95 blocks, 38 aces and 160 digs. She recorded nearly 450 kills on 878 attacks in 2024.
Witherspoon led the Lancers to back-to-back Missouri Class 5 State Championships. Lafayette has won three straight Class 5 titles. The powerhouse won six-straight Class 4 State titles from 2011-2016.
She plays club for Rockwood Thunder. Rockwood’s website says Witherspoon can touch 10-foot-6 with her approach and 9-foot-6 for her block.
