Joe Milton III Calls Cowboys Trade a “Blessing,” Grateful to Learn from Dak Prescott
Quarterback Joe Milton III is embracing his fresh start with the Dallas Cowboys, calling the trade that brought him over from the New England Patriots nothing short of a “blessing.”
In his first public comments since the move, Milton expressed deep gratitude and excitement about joining one of the NFL’s most storied franchises.
“The only thing I did at that moment was thank God,” Milton said via the Cowboys’ official site. “Coming here was a blessing. I didn’t know it was going to be here… I didn’t know where I was going to end up.”
Milton, known for his rocket arm and physical tools coming out of Tennessee, now finds himself in a position to develop behind established veteran Dak Prescott. While he’s not expected to push for starting reps anytime soon, Milton sees the opportunity to learn from a proven leader as invaluable.
“It’s just great to learn from someone like Dak,” he said. “Also, it’s America’s Team. That alone makes this special.”
Milton also cracked a smile about returning to warmer weather:
“Back in the heat, for one. He allowed me to play in the dome, for two.”
As a developmental quarterback with raw upside, Dallas is a solid landing spot for Milton. With Mike McCarthy’s QB-friendly system and Dak Prescott leading the room, Milton has a chance to refine his game while soaking up wisdom from a seasoned pro.
For Milton, it’s not just about the move—it’s about the moment. And for now, he’s making the most of it.
