Georgia Used Intriguing Recruiting Tactic For 5-Star WR During His Visit
Georgia made the right play with this one
With Georgia’s second official visit weekend now officially in the books, the Bulldogs now wait and see where the chips end up falling and which recruits they made an impact on. Head coach Kirby Smart hosted nearly 20 prospects this weekend and is already seeing some of the dominoes fall.
Georgia commit and one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2026, Jared Curtis, came to Athens to throw the ball to some potential recruits, one of them being 5-star Cederian Morgan. Morgan is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in his class and the No. 11 player nationally and would be a huge pickup for the Bulldogs, and almost complete their wide receiver room for the future.
The Bulldogs pulled out all the stops for Morgan, including one that may not seem like a big deal, but for Georgia fans, they know it is a huge deal. Each recruit, when they go for official visits, will have time to take photos in the uniform and have their own mini-media day. Morgan was given No. 1 for his jersey, the number of Georgia great wide receiver Georgia Pickens.
Pickens was also a 5-star wide receiver from Alabama who chose to cross the border and play for the Bulldogs, and he also won a National Championship wearing that number with Georgia, so it certainly is special.
It could have just been a coincidence that Morgan was given that number, or it could mean that they believe Morgan can be just as great, if not better than, Pickens in a Georgia uniform, which means the Bulldogs would get him to the NFL.
Cederian Morgan had a great weekend in Athens for his official visit
Cederian Morgan did more than just take some photos in the Georgia uniform when he was in Athens this past weekend. Morgan was one of the players receiving passes from Jared Curtis this weekend and was also very active on social media, giving updates on how his visit was going.
Curtis just might be the deciding factor for Morgan when it comes to Georgia, as the two players will also be playing 7v7 football together this summer on the same team. If Morgan likes catching passes from Morgan, then he could want to continue that connection in college on the same team.
Morgan has announced he plans to make his decision on his commitment after all of his official visits are complete and plans to share his decision on July 2 at Noon at his high school, Benjamin Russel High School
