MSU’s Marie Rougetet Punches Ticket to NCAA Track & Field Championships
Mississippi State University’s Marie Rougetet has officially qualified for the 2025 NCAA Track & Field Championships, delivering a standout performance in the hammer throw at the NCAA East First Round held in Jacksonville, Florida. Rougetet’s qualification marks a significant milestone in her collegiate career and a proud moment for the Bulldogs’ track and field program.
Rougetet, a senior and team captain, secured her spot by launching a personal-best throw of 64.28 meters, finishing among the top 12 in the region. The result not only guarantees her a berth in the national championship meet in Eugene, Oregon, but also places her among the elite throwers in the country.
“She’s been building to this all season,” said MSU head coach Chris Woods. “Marie has shown consistency, determination, and discipline. Her qualification is a reflection of all the hard work she’s put in over the past four years.”
Originally from France, Rougetet has steadily developed under MSU’s coaching staff, improving her form and technique each season. Her leadership has also helped mentor younger teammates and build a culture of excellence in the Bulldogs’ throwing events.
This year’s NCAA Championships will be held at the prestigious Hayward Field, a venue known as the mecca of American track and field. Rougetet will face off against the top collegiate athletes from across the nation as she seeks All-American honors and the chance to further cement her legacy at MSU.
Her advancement is also a boost to Mississippi State’s women’s track program, which continues to make strides on the national stage. As she heads to Oregon, Rougetet is focused, motivated, and ready to represent the maroon and white at the highest level of collegiate competition.
