Virginia Tech continues to celebrate the rich tradition of excellence within its athletics program, and that legacy will shine even brighter this year. The university has officially announced the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025, honoring a remarkable group of former student-athletes and contributors who left an indelible mark on Hokie history.
This year’s class features standout performers across multiple sports, each representing the core values of commitment, achievement, and Hokie pride. From gridiron legends to Olympic athletes, the 2025 inductees showcase the diversity and depth of Virginia Tech’s athletic excellence.

A Legacy Cemented in Football
Headlining the class is All-American linebacker Dax Hollifield, whose high-energy play and leadership defined the Hokies’ defense during his tenure. Known for his tenacity, high football IQ, and relentless motor, Hollifield was the heartbeat of Virginia Tech’s defense and a fan favorite. His career total tackles rank among the program’s all-time greats, and his legacy of toughness lives on in Lane Stadium.
Joining him is former quarterback Bryan Randall, the 2004 ACC Player of the Year and one of the most dynamic dual-threat QBs in Virginia Tech history. Randall’s calm under pressure, mobility, and leadership helped transition the Hokies into the ACC era with success, including a conference title and a Sugar Bowl berth.

Excellence Across All Sports
The 2025 class isn’t just football-centric—it also features stars from other arenas. Queen Harrison, a former track & field Olympian and NCAA champion, becomes the first female Hokie to compete in the Olympics to be inducted into the Hall. Her dominance in hurdles and sprints helped elevate Virginia Tech’s track program to national prominence, and her international success made her a role model for athletes everywhere.
Also honored is Erin Buchanan, a standout from Virginia Tech’s gymnastics program. A four-time All-ACC honoree and program-record holder in multiple events, Buchanan helped lay the foundation for what has become a rising sport in Blacksburg.
In addition, the Hall welcomes men’s soccer legend Patrick Nyarko, who went on to play in Major League Soccer after a brilliant collegiate career. Nyarko’s technical brilliance, creativity, and scoring ability made him one of the most feared attackers in the NCAA during his time.
