Julian Fleming, a former five-star wide receiver who played for both Ohio State and Penn State, was seriously injured in a tragic ATV accident in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. The crash, which occurred over the weekend, claimed the life of his girlfriend, 23-year-old Alyssa Boyd.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the couple was riding a Yamaha quad when a deer suddenly crossed their path, leading to a collision. Neither Fleming nor Boyd was wearing a helmet at the time. Boyd died at the scene from extensive injuries, while Fleming was transported to Guthrie Troy Community Hospital with serious injuries.
Fleming, 24, was once the nation’s top-ranked wide receiver recruit out of Southern Columbia High School in Pennsylvania. He began his collegiate career at Ohio State, recording 80 receptions for 990 yards and seven touchdowns over 38 games. After graduating in December 2023, he transferred to Penn State, where injuries limited his performance. Recently, he signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent, but the contract was rescinded after he failed a physical.
The sudden loss of Alyssa Boyd and the serious injuries sustained by Fleming have sent shockwaves through the football community. Friends, fans, and former teammates have expressed their condolences and support for Fleming during this difficult time.
