Legacy Continues: Jon Scheyer trying to keep Knueppel Duke lineage alive….full details below ⬇️

Duke head coach Jon Scheyer is actively pursuing Kager Knueppel, the younger brother of former Blue Devil standout Kon Knueppel, aiming to continue the family’s legacy at Duke. Kager, a 6-foot-8 small forward from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, is emerging as a promising talent in the 2027 recruiting class. His impressive performances on the AAU circuit, particularly with Team Herro in the Nike EYBL, have garnered attention from several major programs, including Arkansas and Marquette.

Scheyer’s interest in Kager is part of a broader strategy to build upon familial ties within the program. Kon Knueppel had a significant impact during his time at Duke, leading the team to an ACC Tournament championship and earning All-ACC second team honors before declaring for the NBA Draft. Kager’s potential commitment would mirror the legacy of the Plumlee brothers, who all played for Duke, and reinforce the program’s tradition of nurturing basketball families.

While Kager has yet to receive a formal offer from Duke, his rising profile suggests that an offer may be forthcoming. His strong shooting ability, averaging over 50% from beyond the arc in recent tournaments, and his versatility on the court make him an attractive prospect for Scheyer’s system.

As Kager continues to develop and attract interest from top programs, Duke fans will be watching closely to see if the Knueppel legacy will indeed continue in Durham.
