Breaking news: Arkansas Razorbacks softball, senior first baseman Ellis Named Softball America Player of the Year as Four Hogs Earn All-America Honors
Arkansas Razorbacks senior first baseman Bri Ellis has been named the 2025 Softball America Player of the Year, marking a historic achievement as the first player in program history to receive this national honor from a major softball publication. She is also the first Southeastern Conference (SEC) player to win the award since its inception in 2019 .
🏆 Ellis’s Record-Breaking Season
Ellis delivered one of the most dominant offensive performances in NCAA softball history this season. She set Arkansas single-season records with 26 home runs and 72 RBIs, while maintaining a .457 batting average, a 1.142 slugging percentage, and a .646 on-base percentage, culminating in an OPS of 1.788 . Her power-hitting prowess earned her comparisons to MLB legend Barry Bonds, with a home run every 7.74 at-bats, surpassing Bonds’ career rate of 12.92 .
In addition to the Softball America Player of the Year, Ellis was named SEC Player of the Year, earned All-SEC First Team and All-Defensive Team honors, and was a top-three finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year .
