Former Five-Star Sends Clear Message to Duke Amid Return to College Basketball.
While many top basketball players across the country are busy preparing for the NBA Draft, one former five-star recruit is gearing up for another season of college basketball.
Following a Final Four run in the NCAA Tournament, Duke lost several key players from Jon Scheyer’s squad. One player who plans to return and play a major role for the Blue Devils in 2025-26 is Caleb Foster.
Foster, a 6-foot-5 guard from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, came to Duke as a five-star prospect. In April, he announced he would return for his third season with the Blue Devils. Since then, he’s been putting in the work to get ready for the upcoming season.
In a video message posted on social media, Foster shared his mindset:
“Phenomenal work today, bro. I got better today. I lifted. Did conditioning. Got in the gym with my boy “5”, my cousin “5”. A little better every day. That’s the goal, man. That’s the process, man. Thank you, God, that I am healthy, that I get to do this. Duke nation, I love ya’ll
Foster appeared in 27 games as a freshman before an ankle injury in February ended his season. He returned to play in 38 games last year, averaging 4.9 points per game
