Brianna Mead Announces Commitment to Temple University
Brianna Mead, a 5-foot-7 guard from Thompson, Connecticut, has announced her commitment to Temple University, transferring from Long Island University (LIU). Mead’s decision to join the Owls’ women’s basketball program marks a significant step in her collegiate career.
During her freshman season at LIU, Mead showcased her potential by averaging 8.8 points per game, ranking third on the team. She demonstrated consistency and growth, reaching double-digit scoring in nine games and starting 12 of the Sharks’ 27 contests. Her shooting statistics reflect her offensive capabilities, with a field goal percentage of 37.2%, a three-point percentage of 34.6%, and a free throw percentage of 76.5% .
At Temple, Mead will reunite with Kelian Cedano, a former teammate from Putnam Science Academy. This reunion is expected to strengthen the Owls’ backcourt, which is undergoing transitions following the graduation of key players Tarriyonna Gary and Tiarra East. Mead’s addition brings valuable experience and depth to the team, complementing returning guards Tristen Taylor, Kaylah Turner, and Savannah Curry.
