Four-Star Sunshine State Offensive Lineman Ready for Official Visits

May 21, 2025 — Tampa, Fla. — One of Florida’s top football prospects is entering a pivotal stretch in his recruitment. Four-star offensive lineman Marcus “MJ” Daniels is gearing up for a busy summer filled with official visits to several of the nation’s top programs. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound standout from Tampa Bay Central High School has emerged as one of the most coveted linemen in the 2025 recruiting class.

Daniels, ranked as the No. 14 offensive tackle in the nation and a top-25 player in Florida, has already drawn over 25 scholarship offers. After narrowing down his list in April, he’s now set to take official visits to five programs over the next six weeks: Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, and Miami (FL).

“I’ve been blessed with a lot of options, and now it’s time to really get a feel for where I fit in,” Daniels told reporters following his spring game last weekend. “Each of these schools has made me feel like a priority, and I want to see how they are up close — the coaches, the culture, and how I’d develop there.”

Daniels is scheduled to begin his official visits at Florida State on May 31. The Seminoles were one of the first Power Five programs to offer him back in his sophomore year, and their consistency in communication has kept them firmly in the mix.

“Coach Atkins and Coach Norvell have been real with me from the jump,” Daniels said. “They see me as someone who can come in and compete early, and they’ve shown they believe in me.”

He will follow that trip with a visit to Georgia on June 7. The Bulldogs have developed a reputation for producing elite offensive linemen, and Daniels said he’s intrigued by the chance to compete at a national championship level.

“They’ve got that ‘OLU’ label for a reason,” he said. “It’s a place where you get better every day.”

Michigan, Oregon, and Miami round out his visit schedule. The Wolverines’ physical style of play appeals to Daniels, while Oregon’s facilities and West Coast appeal offer something different. Miami, close to home and making a strong recruiting push in-state, has surged recently thanks to relationships with area coaches and Daniels’ family.

With his visits locked in, Daniels says he’s not in a rush to commit — but he does plan to announce before the start of his senior season.

“I want to be locked in with my team by fall camp,” he said. “But I won’t rush it. I need to feel 100% about wherever I go.”

Daniels’ blend of size, athleticism, and football IQ has made him a hot commodity this cycle. As college staffs ramp up their 2025 evaluations, all eyes will be on where this Sunshine State star decides to take his talents next.

Until then, his summer tour of campuses will play a major role in shaping one of the most anticipated commitments in the region.
