Jon Scheyer came to Duke as a player in 2006, left in 2010 with a national championship and returned as an assistant in 2014, winning another national championship in 2015.
And of course he took the reins in 2022 after Mike Krzyzewski retired and has been the head coach since, racking up a Sweet Sixteen, an Elite Eight, and this year getting to the Final Four.
Everyone has to start somewhere though and for Scheyer, his first major introduction to basketball took place in FAAM – the Fellowship of African American Men.

The league was based in Evanston and Scheyer got so involved that his family apparently seriously considered moving to Evanston from Northbrook. Ultimately they did not and he made his bones at Northbrook, building a tremendous high school career that ultimately led him to Duke.
