Women’s volleyball alum Haleigh Washington earns LOVB Woman of the Year Award.
A former Nittany Lion won an award in LOVB.
Middle blocker Haleigh Washington was awarded the inaugural LOVB Woman of the Year award.
For middle blocker Haleigh Washington, creating authentic connections within the Salt Lake community has been a priority since the inaugural season began,” LOVB wrote in its Instagram post. “Whether sheβs on the court hyping up the crowd or working 1:1 with young players, Haleighβs enthusiasm, positivity and infectious personality has enabled LOVB Salt Lake to create strong connections with the community and fans.”
Washington was in Happy Valley from 2014-17, earning multiple All-American and All-Big Ten honors. The middle blocker was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2014, when the Nittany Lions won the NCAA National Championship.Since graduating from Penn State, Washington has been on multiple professional teams and on Team USA’s Olympic squads in 2020 and 2024. Now with LOVB Salt Lake, Washington has put together a standout year, both on and off the court.
