Wormley, meanwhile, faces one misdemeanor count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Wallace was charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.Three Penn State football student-athletes are facing charges after university police found drugs in the trio’s on-campus apartment, according to documents filed Monday.
Penn State Police officers arrived at the apartment, which belonged to Devyn Ford, Sal Wormley, and Caedan Wallace, on August 2 in response to a fire alarm, police wrote in a probable cause affidavit filed on Monday. There, they found marijuana on the floor, a “very potent” smell of burned weed, drug paraphernalia, including a pipe and a grinder, and tabs of LSD.
Ford, Wormley, and Wallace weren’t listed as having defense lawyers. Each student-athlete has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday, September 30.
A Penn State Athletics spokesperson said the department is aware of the charges against the three athletes. The department said it wouldn’t comment any further on the matter at this time due to its ongoing nature.
“These alleged actions do not reflect the values and standards of our program and will be addressed,” Athletics said.
