BREAKING: Penn State football beats out Michigan, others for in-state defensive lineman.
The strong spring on the recruiting trail continues for Penn State football heading into the weekend. On Friday, the Nittany Lions picked up another commitment for their 2026 class, landing St. Joseph’s Prep (PA) defensive lineman Alex Haskell.
Haskell announced his commitment via X on Friday night. The 6’4 “, 255-pound defender chose the Nittany Lions over Big Ten rival Michigan and ACC foes Syracuse and Duke. A three-star, Haskell is the No. 12 prospect in Pennsylvania for 2026, according to On3. He joins defensive lineman Isaac Chukwurah and edge Daniel Jennings as the Nittany Lions’ commits along the defensive front for the cycle.
Over the last six weeks, Penn State football has added seven members to its 2026 recruiting class, five of which have come on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage. Before Haskell’s announcement, the Nittany Lions had the No. 4 class in 247Sports 2026 rankings
