Fans should prepare for some wild takes as the Dallas Cowboys get set for contract talks with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons. Passions will run high when talking about the team’s long-term prospects.
In a recent Yahoo Fantasy Football Show segment, Jori Epstein discussed the Cowboys’ current situation and culture. She also touched on Micah Parsons and the deals involving Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.
Her remarks on the latter seemed to imply that the Cowboys shouldn’t be as certain about extending Parsons as they should be about Dak and CeeDee, which is what really set the internet on fire.
According to Epstein, she was informed by an NFL defensive coach that “Micah is a Hall of Fame player when the Cowboys are winning, but he’s basically average when the Cowboys need him the most (…) Chris Jones makes plays when it counts most, but he also blows key plays. While Micah isn’t perfect in every play, he tends to shine when things are least important.”
Admitting that it appears to be the case for every player on the Cowboys roster, Epstein disclosed that front office personnel listed other players who were in a similar situation and suggested that it might be a cultural problem.
Even if it’s easy to follow the storyline the unnamed coach lays out, a closer look raises the question of whether it actually makes sense.
