BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — In a move that’s sure to electrify Hoosier Nation, Indiana head coach Darian DeVries has announced that former IU superstar and 2011 Indiana Mr. Basketball, Cody Zeller, is officially returning to Bloomington — this time on the sidelines. Zeller, a fan favorite and NBA veteran, will join the coaching staff as an assistant coach, bringing his experience, leadership, and passion for Indiana basketball back to Assembly Hall.
Zeller’s homecoming marks a new chapter in the program’s storied legacy, as the Hoosiers look to build a powerhouse under DeVries. Known for his high basketball IQ, team-first mentality, and deep roots in Indiana hoops, Zeller’s addition is being celebrated as a major win for the program’s future — and a powerful message to recruits about the strength of the Hoosier family.
