Tony Vitello on Tennessee Baseball’s ‘Roadblocks’ After Auburn Series
Tennessee head baseball coach Tony Vitello recently addressed the challenges his team faces following their series against Auburn, highlighting the metaphorical “roadblocks” that can impede progress in the competitive Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Despite Auburn’s underwhelming SEC record of 1–8 at the time, Vitello emphasized that such statistics can be misleading. He noted that every team in the SEC presents a formidable challenge, regardless of their standings. “Their record is very deceiving, and that’s part of the deal of being in this league,” Vitello remarked. “We’ve experienced it in our program, and I think you’ve seen other teams experience it, too.”
