Congratulations: Caleb Williams Welcomes First Baby – Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary with Girlfriend Alina Thyregod: ‘Been a Good Year’
Chicago, IL — It’s a double celebration for Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. The 2024 No. 1 overall draft pick not only welcomed his first child early Monday morning, but also marked his one-year anniversary with his girlfriend, Danish model and entrepreneur Alina Thyregod.
The 23-year-old NFL star took to Instagram just before sunrise, sharing a heartwarming black-and-white photo of his newborn daughter’s tiny hand wrapped around his finger. The caption simply read: “Welcome to the world, little warrior. You’ve already changed mine.”
Sources close to the couple confirm that Alina gave birth at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after a smooth and healthy delivery. Both mom and baby are reportedly doing great, and the pair have named their daughter Nova Skye Williams — a nod to Alina’s Scandinavian roots and Caleb’s fascination with space and “limitless potential.”
Caleb, who’s already become the face of the Bears’ rebuilding efforts, spoke briefly to reporters outside Halas Hall during light practice: “It’s been a crazy year — draft day, first season, and now, fatherhood. But honestly, I’ve never been more motivated. Everything I do now is for her.”
The news comes just as the couple also celebrates their one-year anniversary. The two first met at a fashion event in Paris in spring 2024, when Caleb was still finishing his final semester at USC and Alina was hosting a campaign launch for her sustainable clothing line, NORD.
Though they kept their relationship relatively low-key throughout the NFL offseason, the pair made their red carpet debut at the ESPYs last July and quickly became one of sports media’s most followed couples.
In a touching anniversary post, Alina shared a montage of moments from their whirlwind year: late-night pizza runs, ultrasound reveals, backyard workouts, and goofy dance-offs in the kitchen. Her caption read: “From Paris to parenthood. What a year. You make life feel like the best adventure. Love you always, C.”
Social media exploded with congratulations from fans and fellow players alike. Bears teammate D.J. Moore commented, “Uncle DJ reporting for diaper duty!” while Patrick Mahomes tweeted, “Welcome to the Dad Club, Caleb. You’re gonna crush it.”
Though the Bears’ season has had its highs and lows, fans are rallying behind the rookie QB like never before. With fatherhood now in the mix, many believe the added responsibility could sharpen his focus even more.
The couple reportedly plans to split their time between Chicago and Alina’s family home in Copenhagen during the offseason.
