Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, the greatest player in Miami Heat history# Dwyane Wade expected to join Amazon for NBA coverage

Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, the greatest player in Miami Heat history, is expected to join Amazon Prime for its TV coverage for the 2025-26 NBA Season, Front Office Sports’ Ryan Glasspiegel first reported Wednesday.

The announcement comes with former WNBA great Candace Parker also joining the network. Glasspiegel notes that the deals for both haven’t become official yet, at the time of this publishing.

Wade was apart of NBC’s coverage for the Paris Olympics over the winter as one of Team USA’s men’s basketball analysts. He joins a list of former players who are joining the network to assist with their NBA coverage, which includes Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash and Blake Griffin. Kevin Harlan and Ian Eagle are expected to be the two lead play-by-play voices for Amazon Prime.

The 16-year NBA veteran was a studio analyst with Turner Sports (TNT) from 2019-22. His new role with Amazon, at this time, remains unclear.

This is subjective, but Wade has been great on TV in the past, be it in the studio or as a color commentator. Just make sure he doesn’t judge a dunk contest again! I, personally, thought he was best in the studio. He can break down a game as good as most, so I’m fascinated with his fit as the NBA transitions into this new era of coverage.

The league finalized an 11-year, $76 billion media rights deal last summer for ESPN, Amazon and NBCUniversal, starting in 2025-26. I’ve been critical of the league’s television coverage because 90 percent of the discourse isn’t about what’s actually happening on the court. Different voices, including Wade’s, could shift that (sans ESPN), but we won’t know until the time comes.

Anyways, congratulations, Dwyane
