The list of invites for the 2025 NBA Combine were released this week. There was one particular player who didn’t receive an invitation despite averaging 17.2 points per game this past season.
Most of the biggest names in college basketball, such as Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper, will showcase their skills at the NBA Combine. Even a few players uncertain about their future, like RJ Luis Jr. and Otega Oweh, received invitations to this scouting event at Wintrust Arena. Caleb Love, however, won’t be in Chicago for the NBA Combine.
Love spent three seasons at North Carolina and two seasons at Arizona, averaging 15.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. In the final game of his collegiate career, he had 35 points in a Sweet 16 loss to Duke.
Despite having such an impressive college career, Love was snubbed by the NBA. That decision isn’t sitting well with most basketball fans. Not only do fans believe Love will prove the NBA wrong, they’re rooting for that to happen.
“Haters in here just following a trend he a dawg and would give your favorite team buckets. Should most definitely have got an invite,” one fan wrote on X.
“Crazy. NBA is so obsessed with young prospects. This guy is a killer,” second fan commented.
“That’s total BS. He balled out all over Duke and their 3 1st round picks. Give me Caleb over Knueppel,” another fan said.
