Top Penn State Defensive Line Target Alexander Haskell Announces Commitment Date

One of the top defensive line prospects in Pennsylvania, Alexander Haskell, has officially announced the date he will reveal his college commitment — setting the stage for one of the most anticipated decisions in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Haskell, a standout at St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, will make his college decision public on May 25, 2025, via a live stream on his social media platforms.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive lineman has been a key target for Penn State’s coaching staff, particularly defensive line coach Deion Barnes. Haskell’s combination of size, athleticism, and versatility on the defensive front has drawn national attention. He has narrowed his final list of schools to four programs: Penn State, Michigan, Duke, and Syracuse.

Haskell’s recruitment has been closely watched, especially by Penn State fans who are hopeful he’ll stay in-state and continue the tradition of strong defensive line play in Happy Valley. He has made multiple visits to State College over the past year and maintains a strong relationship with the coaching staff. Penn State’s recent success in developing defensive talent and their commitment to recruiting top in-state players are key factors working in their favor.

In his junior season at St. Joseph’s Prep, Haskell tallied 32 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and numerous quarterback pressures, helping lead his team to a state title. His impact on the field and leadership off of it have made him one of the most coveted defensive prospects in the region.

With May 25 quickly approaching, all eyes will be on Haskell’s decision — one that could have a significant impact on the Nittany Lions’ 2026 recruiting class and their future defensive front.
