One of the top recruits in Pennsylvania and a priority Penn State target will make his decision in a matter of days.
St. Joseph’s Prep defensive lineman Alex Haskell, a standout in the 2026 recruiting cycle, will announce his commitment decision on May 9, he confirmed on social media.Haskell announced in February that his decision is down to four schools: Penn State, Michigan, Duke and Syracuse. He also had offers from Miami, Pitt and Wisconsin, among others.Penn State is in a strong position with Haskell, a rising three-star prospect. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound recruit has visited Happy Valley at least a half-dozen times. Haskell was most recently on campus for an unofficial visit during the Nittany Lions’ spring camp last month.Haskell would be a big addition to Penn State’s impressive 2026 recruiting class. The Nittany Lions have commitments from 13 players, including five in-state stars: Harrisburg running back Messiah Mickens, Harrisburg lineman Kevin Brown, Nazareth quarterback Peyton Falzone, Fort Cherry safety Matt Sieg and Imani Christian corner David Davis.Penn State always has a strong recruiting presence in Pa., but this year’s class could be teeming with in-state stars. The Nittany Lions are also pursuing La Salle stars Joey O’Brien and Grayson McKeogh, Malvern Prep’s Jackson Ford and Coatesville’s Terry Wiggins.
We’ll find out next week if Haskell joins Mickens, Brown, Falzone, Sieg and Davis.
