The 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive tackle, who visited the Hokies earlier in April, brings 942 career snaps to Blacksburg, per PFF. He spent three seasons with the Eagles, which included a redshirt year in 2022. In his career, he has 49 tackles, 9.5 TFLs and 6.5 sacks.
Fall earned honorable mention All-American honors as a redshirt freshman in 2023 with 19 tackles, including five TFLs and four sacks. He had PFF grades of 71.5 (overall defense), 72.2 (run defense) and 81.5 (tackling) that season in 364 snaps.
The Marietta, Ga., native was an honorable mention All-Sun Belt pick last year after racking up 20 tackles, which included 4.5 TFLs and 2.5 sacks across 432 snaps. His grades took a slight dip, though — 59.9, 49.8 and 74.4, respectively. He had two tackles against Ole Miss and one vs. Boise State.
Fall was a second-team all-region selection at Osborne High School and was originally an unranked prospect. Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State and Navy were his three FBS offers, according to 247Sports.
He’s the sixth offseason addition on the defensive line for the Hokies and the fourth at tackle, joining Kody Huisman (North Dakota State), Arias Nash (Mercer) and Jahzari Priester (Hampton). As far as post-spring pickups go, he’s Tech’s fourth after Huisman, offensive lineman Gavin Crawford (West Virginia) and cornerback Caleb Brown (Hawaii).
