A Wild Draft Scenario To ConsiderIt won’t happen…but what if it did?

Let’s be clear: the odds of this happening are very, very remote. But so is winning the lottery – not the NBA lottery, but the one that all of us can play – and people win that. So clearly, while it’s unlikely, it’s not impossible that one team could draft Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach.

And this article lays out how Utah could do it.

Obviously the whole thing depends on the Jazz winning the lottery which would bring Flagg to Salt Lake City with the first pick.

And Knueppel?

Under this scenario, Danny Ainge would trade Lauri Markkanen and the 21st pick to move up to take Knueppel with the #6 pick.

And finally Maluach: it would be a similar situation where Ainge would have to gauge where he could be had and trade, again according to this scenario, Collin Sexton and a couple of picks.

Again, the odds of this happening are vanishingly small, but adding all three players, with a demonstrated chemistry, would be an amazing addition and, not coincidentally, a great and marketable story.
