The mass exodus for Penn State has continued

Yet another Penn State basketball player, a Pa. native, enters the transfer portal, per report

The mass exodus for Penn State has continued.

Big man Kachi Nzeh has entered the transfer portal, according to a report from On3. Nzeh, a sophomore this past season, played just one year at Penn State after transferring from Xavier.

From Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, Nzeh was the primary backup to star 7-footer Yanic Konan Niederhauser. He made 29 appearances with two starts, averaging 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds.

The 6-9 center was a three-star prospect in the 2023 class.

Penn State has now seen nine scholarship players from last season’s 16-15 finish depart the program — five seniors and four portal entries.

Three-fourths of Penn State’s well-regarded 2024 recruiting class have now left, too, with Jahvin Carter, Miles Goodman and Hudson Ward all on their way out. Carter has since committed to Middle Tennessee State, while Goodman has gone off the Big Ten foe Oregon.

Penn State is left even thinner in the frontcourt with Nzeh’s exit. Niederhauser has declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility, but if he goes, the Nittany Lions will have just incoming freshman Justin Houser to man the middle.
