A look back at Jaland Lowe’s most memorable moment at Pitt: A dagger to win at Duke
Kentucky is Getting a player who Shines In College Basektball’s biggest environments
Winning at Cameron Indoor Stadium is hard to do.
Hitting a shot that silences the Cameron Crazies? That’s a memorable moment for any player.
It’s something that former Pitt Panther Jaland Lowe knows a thing or two about, because he did it in January of 2024.
Lowe, a transfer point guard who played his first two seasons at Pitt, has two seasons of eligibility remaining. In 2024-25, Lowe averaged 16.8 points, 5.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds. He had 10 games with 20+ points last season and four games with 10+ assists.
In that game at Duke in 2024, Lowe had 17 points and six assists. His dagger three-pointer was one of two he hit in the game, both coming in the second half. It was part of a Freshman season where Lowe had 17 games with double-digit points, with 15 of those coming in his last 17 games. It’s as if that clutch shot against Duke springboarded him toward a strong finish in his first season against Pittsburgh and an even better second season.
Lowe had 100+ assists in both seasons at Pitt. If he can come in and be a really good ball distributor for the Wildcats, that’s going to help Otega Oweh focus solely on scoring. It also helps that Lowe isn’t afraid to take big shots in big-time College Basketball environments.
Kentucky’s backcourt is starting to take shape, and it could be really good in the 2025-2026 Season.
