Kirby Smart Shares Crucial Update Ahead Of Georgia’s G-Day

This should excite Georgia fans that will be in attendance.

The end of spring ball is here as Georgia football’s annual G-Day, which marks the conclusion of spring ball, will take place this Saturday, April 12.

G-Day is always one of the best days of the offseason as it is the one time most people get to see Georgia on the field before the regular season this fall. But one thing that plagues a lot of teams ahead of their spring game is injuries.

Players play through a lot of injuries during the regular season, but that isn’t the case in the spring. If someone isn’t feeling healthy there’s a good chance they’ll just sit out to not risk a serious injury during a scrimmage.

Georgia unfortunately has had their fair share of injuries so far this spring, but according to Kirby Smart, who UGA has available for G-Day will be pretty close to what fans will see later this fall.

“It’s going to be as close to us every year we’ve ever had,“ Smart said in an interview appearance on 680 The Fan. ”It looks like we’re pretty healthy. We’ve got a couple kids that are out. We’ve got the numbers we needed to divide into two teams. It’ll be one o’clock. The format will be very similar to what we’ve done in the past. We’re going to play a game and let the guys go compete.

Excitement is still hard to come by

While it is exciting to hear that Georgia is relatively healthy and fans should see a good product on the field on Saturday, it still is a little difficult to be really excited. Reason being because the game will not be televised.

This update from Smart is amazing news for the fans that will be in attendance this weekend, but it doesn’t matter all that much to those at home.

So hopefully the game is televised against next year, that way spring ball can go back to normal for all Georgia fans, even those at home.
