Chip Kelly Makes Historic Return to NFL with Record Contract from Raiders

Chip Kelly is making a significant comeback to the NFL as the new offensive coordinator for the Las Vegas Raiders, landing a groundbreaking contract that makes him the highest-paid coordinator in the league. According to NFL insider Albert Breer, Kelly’s deal is worth $6 million annually, a substantial increase from the $2.1 million he was set to make at Ohio State.

The Raiders’ offer, three times Kelly’s Ohio State salary, was part of a major financial commitment to attract the coach back to the NFL. Kelly’s tenure at Ohio State included developing top players like TreVeyon Henderson, Quinshon Judkins, and Emeka Egbuka. Now, with the Raiders, Kelly will focus on revamping a struggling offense, including their weak rushing game, and attempt to turn the franchise’s fortunes around under Pete Carroll’s guidance.
