Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe had an up-and-down start to Senior Bowl week, leaving scouts and analysts divided on his draft prospects. After Monday’s first practice at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala., opinions on Milroe’s stock remain uncertain, with no clear consensus on where he might be selected.
Observers at the practice noted that Milroe struggled with accuracy, particularly during 1-on-1 drills. At one point, he failed to complete eight consecutive passes, raising concerns about his consistency as a passer. WDSU’s Fletcher Mackel highlighted Milroe’s difficulties, emphasizing that he had trouble delivering the ball effectively, especially during that rough stretch. Other reporters shared video clips showing missed throws, including one where he skipped a pass in front of a receiver in a routine drill with no pass rush or defensive pressure. Additionally, Milroe threw an interception during 1-on-1 matchups between receivers and defensive backs, though some responsibility falls on the wideout in that drill.
While one practice won’t define Milroe’s draft future, his struggles on Monday did little to boost his stock. Many analysts see a significant drop-off between top quarterback prospects like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward—both projected first-round picks—and the next tier, which includes Milroe and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart. Even the Senior Bowl’s director acknowledged concerns about this year’s quarterback class, reinforcing the uncertainty surrounding Milroe’s draft outlook.
