Tennessee Vols Make Major Move for 4-Star Edge Rusher After Jaw-Dropping Visit

Tennessee’s Recruitment Gains Momentum with 4-Star Edge Rusher Dre Quinn’s Bold Praise

The Tennessee Volunteers are actively pursuing a highly-rated recruit from Georgia as they continue to build momentum for their 2026 recruiting class.

Dre Quinn, a four-star edge rusher from Norcross, Georgia, recently visited Knoxville, and his experience left a lasting impression. Following his visit, Quinn shared with On3 that Tennessee has quickly risen to the top of his list of potential schools. “After my visit today, Tennessee is definitely high on my list,” Quinn said. “My connection with the coaches was awesome. It felt like I’ve known them for years.”

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 228 pounds, Quinn is considered one of the top prospects in the nation. According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, he is the No. 26 edge rusher in the country and the No. 38 player in Georgia.

His visit to Tennessee revealed a strong connection with the coaching staff, who Quinn described as approachable and genuine. “The vibes felt genuine, and the coaches and staff were down to earth,” he explained.

Along with Tennessee, several other prestigious programs are competing for Quinn’s commitment, including Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia Tech. Quinn also mentioned that he plans to make an official visit to Tennessee later this year, which could further solidify the Vols’ position in his recruitment.

Tennessee has become an increasingly attractive destination for elite edge rushers in recent years, thanks in part to the success of former players like Byron Young, who is currently with the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL, and James Pearce, who is a projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Vols have developed a reputation for preparing edge rushers for the next level, a factor that could play a pivotal role in Quinn’s decision.

Currently, Tennessee’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked No. 5 in the nation, with eight commitments already secured. As the Volunteers continue to build a competitive and dynamic roster, securing a commitment from a player like Quinn would further solidify their place among the nation’s elite programs.

With his combination of talent, athleticism, and strong relationship with the Tennessee coaching staff, Quinn could be a key piece in Tennessee’s future success on the field.
