After the game, head coach Matt McMahon reflected on the team’s performance. He expressed disappointment with the outcome but acknowledged the team’s improvement. McMahon praised the team’s preparation and mindset, noting their competitive spirit and physicality in the first half. He highlighted Corey Chest’s exceptional rebounding performance as one of the best he had witnessed in his coaching career. McMahon emphasized the importance of execution, pointing out that despite being in a close game, LSU struggled with their three-point shooting, going 3-of-23, and shooting 39% overall from the floor. He commended the team’s ability to control tempo and compete defensively, which allowed them to remain in the game.
There’s a lot to learn and build upon, as the team continues to grow and develop.
