FSU’s Latest Recruit: Can Florida State Steal SEC Commit Tyreek King?
Florida State’s coaching staff has extended numerous offers this January as they target key positions for the 2026 recruiting class. One of the most recent offers went to Tyreek King, a four-star wide receiver committed to Tennessee. King, who shared the offer on social media, mentioned assistant tight ends coach Preston Brady. King has been committed to the Volunteers since October 31.
King previously visited Florida State during the summer and returned for the home game against Clemson on October 5. Since then, he has not made another trip, even after Florida State hired Tim Harris Jr. as the new wide receivers coach in December. A follow-up visit would be a crucial next step in Florida State’s efforts to recruit him.
Though King remains committed to Tennessee, he has shown interest in other programs. He visited Michigan just days after his commitment, and also toured Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, and Texas A&M last fall.
The 5-foot-10.5, 168-pound receiver from Knoxville Catholic High School had an outstanding junior season. He caught 49 passes for 1,062 yards and 14 touchdowns, with five games surpassing 100 yards. His standout performance came against Lakeway Christian Academy, where he recorded six catches for 196 yards and four touchdowns in a 50-13 win.
King is ranked as the No. 113 overall prospect, No. 15 wide receiver, and No. 3 recruit in Tennessee for the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.
Currently, Florida State has six verbal commitments in the 2026 class, which is ranked No. 8 nationally. The class includes four-star wide receivers Efrem White and Darryon Williams, along with other top prospects.
