Vols’ Power Play: Heupel and Coaches Hit the Road to Pursue 4-Star Linebacker”
Tennessee coach Josh Heupel and several assistants visited Brayden Rouse, a four-star linebacker from the Class of 2026, at Kell High School in Marietta, Ga., on Friday. This visit came just days after Rouse attended the Vols’ junior day. Heupel, along with linebackers coach William Inge, defensive coordinator Tim Banks, and defensive backs coach Willie Martinez, spent time with Rouse to strengthen their relationship.
Rouse, ranked No. 67 overall and No. 4 linebacker in the 2026 class by 247Sports, posted a photo with the coaches on social media. Other notable recruits, like cornerback Jalen Williams and running back Quinterrius Gipson, were also present.
Rouse first received an offer from Tennessee in August and has attended multiple games, including matchups against Florida and UTEP. He also visited Tennessee’s practice before their College Football Playoff game against Ohio State.
After the junior day, Rouse shared that the experience focused more on football development, where he discussed how the coaches view him as a player and their plans for him. Heupel and Inge explained how Tennessee utilizes linebackers and showed Rouse clips of their defensive plays.
Rouse appreciates the consistent communication from Tennessee, which has made him feel like a top priority. He values the respect the program showed by being one of the first to offer him a scholarship.
