Former Alabama safety, Vinnie Sunseri, has taken on the role of Co-Defensive Coordinator and safeties coach for the Florida Gators, as reported by CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Sunseri, who played for the Crimson Tide from 2011 to 2013 and contributed to two National Championship victories, was recently set to become the defensive coordinator for Jacksonville State. However, it appears he has chosen to forgo this opportunity with the Gamecocks for the position with the Gators.
Throughout his coaching career, Sunseri has gained valuable experience. He has previously held coaching positions at Washington and with the New England Patriots, in addition to serving as a graduate assistant at Alabama. His extensive background in both playing and coaching will undoubtedly benefit the Florida Gators’ defensive strategies moving forward.
