🎄 Collingwood Football Club to Host Christmas Celebration for Fans and Homeless Children
Melbourne, Australia – December 2025
In a heartwarming gesture of community spirit, the Collingwood Football Club has announced it will host a special Christmas celebration at the AIA Centre this December, bringing together Magpie fans and homeless children from across Victoria for a day of joy, unity, and giving.
The event, titled “A Magpie Christmas,” will feature festive meals, live entertainment, games, and appearances by Collingwood players and coaches. Children will receive personalized gifts and enjoy activities including face painting, a Santa visit, and skill challenges on the oval.
Club President Jeff Browne said the initiative reflects Collingwood’s deep connection to its community.
> “Collingwood has always been more than a football club — we’re a family. This Christmas, we want to share that spirit with those doing it tough and remind everyone that they’re part of something bigger,” Browne said.
The event will be supported by Collingwood’s Community Foundation, along with several local charities and sponsors. Volunteers from the club and fan groups will assist in meal preparation, gift distribution, and event coordination.
Star midfielder Nick Daicos shared his excitement:
> “Seeing kids’ faces light up when they meet players or get their gifts — that’s what it’s all about. It’s special to give back to the people who support us all year round.”
Fans are encouraged to contribute by donating toys, clothing, or funds through the club’s official website, with all proceeds going toward supporting children’s welfare and homelessness services across Melbourne.
The Collingwood Christmas Celebration will take place on Saturday, December 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the AIA Centre, with entry free for invited guests and registered participants.
