LIONS LEAD THE WAY: PENN STATE DOMINATES PFF’S PRESEASON ALL-BIG TEN OFFENSE
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Nittany Lions have roared to the forefront of preseason accolades, placing a league-best three players on Pro Football Focus’ (PFF) Preseason All-Big Ten First Team Offense, underscoring the program’s offensive firepower heading into the 2025 season.
Headlining the list is quarterback Drew Allar, joined by star running back Nicholas Singleton and veteran guard Olavavega Ioane. The trio highlights Penn State’s balance of elite skill talent and trench strength, positioning the Lions as a top contender for the Big Ten crown.
Allar at the Helm
Allar, who enters his second year as the full-time starter, was tabbed by PFF analyst Max Chadwick as the conference’s top signal-caller. With his strong arm, improved decision-making, and a loaded supporting cast, Allar is widely seen as one of the nation’s breakout stars in 2025.
“Drew Allar has the tools and upside to not just dominate the Big Ten, but to cement himself as one of the top quarterbacks in all of college football,” Chadwick wrote.
Singleton’s Star Power
Running back Nicholas Singleton, already one of the most explosive backs in the country, adds another accolade to his résumé. His blend of speed, vision, and power makes him a centerpiece of Penn State’s offense, and expectations are high for him to challenge for national awards.
Big Men in the Spotlight
Olavavega Ioane’s selection reinforces Penn State’s reputation for offensive line development. The veteran guard has been a steady presence in the trenches and will be counted on to anchor a line tasked with protecting Allar and opening lanes for Singleton.
Lions Outpace Rivals
While Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin each placed multiple players on the team, no program matched Penn State’s three representatives on offense. It’s a statement that reflects the Nittany Lions’ growing status as an offensive powerhouse in the Big Ten.
With PFF’s nod, the message is clear: Penn State has the talent, balance, and leadership to make a serious run at the Big Ten title and College Football Playoff in 2025.
