After Tony Pollard left in the off-season, the backfield should have been the team’s top focus, but Jerry Jones and company haven’t done much but re-sign Rico Dowdle for a single year.

Dallas could have replaced Pollard with a number of free-agent running backs, so it’s particularly aggravating to watch. Rather, the Cowboys let elite players like Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley join with other teams, while cheap rushers like D’Onta Foreman, Gus Edwards, and Zack Moss signed.

Cowboys Update: RB Chargers to meet with JK Dobbins.
The Cowboys ought to have pursued J.K. Dobbins as well over the summer, but it seems unlikely that they will have the opportunity. The Los Angeles Chargers and the former 2020 second-round pick are set to meet on Thursday, according to NFL source Adam Schefter.
