Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, the Hayes brothers brought unmatched energy and power to the hardwood in the early 2000s, helping to shape a new era of UGA basketball. Jarvis, known for his smooth jumper and clutch scoring, earned All-SEC honors and went on to become a first-round NBA Draft pick (10th overall by the Washington Wizards in 2003)—making him one of the most accomplished Georgia players of his generation.
His twin, Jonas, carved his own legacy with relentless effort, basketball IQ, and locker-room leadership. Though he didn’t take the NBA route, Jonas would eventually become a respected figure in collegiate coaching, earning recognition for his player development skills, mentoring young athletes, and bringing national success as an assistant coach, most notably helping Xavier to a deep NCAA Tournament run before becoming the head coach at Georgia State.
